Father of Zeus - The moon is a vector of silence

The moon is a vector of silence

This song was recorded between Honolulu, San Diego, and Los Angeles and mixed in Colombia. The lyrics of this song involve making a tough decision and whether the final choice is the right one or not, in addition to perceiving the importance of having inner peace despite the situation one faces.

The introspection is highly felt in the chorus, where the vocal performance explodes into multiple harmonic layers. This song is very personal, and it is an attempt to provide value to those who need it.

Father of Zeus was a topic of discussion for two childhood friends who met in Cartagena, Colombia in the 90’s. Cesar Rodriguez and Daniel Falquez have always found music to be at the core of their friendship. As they grew older, taking different life paths, they continued sharing music ideas that later became songs.

In 2014, Daniel and Cesar decided to put their song ideas together and created “A Conversation”, this first song was recorded in Daniel’s home studio in Katy, TX, and has yet to be released.

With the furor of the pandemic, the duo decided to pull the trigger once and for all and formed Father of Zeus. Combining their taste for Grunge, Metal, and Punk Rock, influenced by bands like Nirvana, The Beatles, Alice in Chains, Pennywise, and Hum to name a few, they came up with their own sound filled with mysticism and profound lyrics. If you are curating a playlist, consider mixing Father of Zeus with bands like Teenage Wrist, Gleemer, Superheaven, Fiddlehead, and Title Fight.

While Cesar and Daniel were living 2,500 miles apart, that did not stop them from moving forward with this project. They enlisted the Living Dead Drummer (Nick Mason) out of Los Angeles, CA to track the drums while Cesar took guitar duties from San Diego, CA and Daniel jumped on the bass and vocals from Honolulu, HI.

The culmination of such hard work and determination led them to release their debut song called “Sobrenatural” on April 16, 2021. The song was written by Cesar Rodriguez and later sent for mixing and mastering to David Ospina at Brona Records in Rionegro, Colombia.

Cesar and Daniel show us their essence again in their music and introspection in their lyrics with their latest track “The moon is a vector of silence”. With this song, one can perceive the importance of having inner peace despite the situation one faces.

Father of Zeus’ premise is to embrace minimalism and focus on the joy of creating and playing music through the continued exchange of ideas, collaboration, the will to keep playing and sharing their view of the world through music.

Lyrics

An endless sound
The pit of regret is all I know
An indelible soul
The strength to forget, I’ve never known

I won’t get through
I hear the winter calling out my name
Decisions, permissions
The moon is a vector of silence

A rising fear
An epic failure
A moment of solitude
Dangerous behavior

I won’t get through
I hear the winter calling out my name
Decisions, permissions
The moon is a vector of silence
Patiently waiting
A signal to focus on the inside
The World collides into oblivion
